HOW EASY IS IT TO SET UP BALLERCAM BEFORE A GAME?
BallerCam is designed for quick setup. The basic motions involve snapping your iPhone into the BallerCam case, mounting it on a tripod, positioning it at mid-court or mid-field, opening the app, and tapping record or go live. Most users are ready to capture in under 5 minutes for their first time, and under 2 minutes in subsequent filming sessions. We handle all of the complicated field/court masking and tracking—you just set it and forget it. IS BALLERCAM EASY ENOUGH FOR PARENTS TO USE AT GAMES?
Absolutely. We built BallerCam specifically for parents who want quality game footage without the learning curve. If you can use your iPhone's camera, you can use BallerCam. The app guides you through positioning, handles the technical settings automatically, and makes filming and sharing simple.
ARE THERE ANY TUTORIALS FOR USING BALLERCAM WITH AN IPHONE?
Yes. Our app includes an interactive setup guide that walks you through your first recording. We also have video tutorials on our YouTube channel covering positioning tips, optimal settings for different sports, and how to get the best footage in various lighting conditions.
WHAT IPHONES ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THE BALLERCAM SYSTEM?
BallerCam works with iPhone 13 Pro and newer models. For the best experience, we recommend iPhone 14 or later, which provides improved ultra-wide lenses and better low-light performance.
SPORTS COVERAGE AND COMPATIBILITY
CAN BALLERCAM CAPTURE THE FULL BASKETBALL COURT ACTION?
Yes. Using your iPhone's lens plus the built-in BallerCam 180-degree lens, BallerCam captures the entire court from a single position at or near mid-court, although try not to go further than the free-throw line. In other words, the BallerCam captures the entire court end-to-end, and we process the video so it appears the camera is panning when it's actually stationary. No need to pan or follow the ball manually.
IS BALLERCAM SUITABLE FOR RECORDING VOLLEYBALL MATCHES?
BallerCam works excellently for volleyball. We recommend positioning the camera on the sideline, on one side of the net, for the best capture, but the baseline will work too; it just won't pan back and forth with the action.
DOES BALLERCAM WORK FOR SPORTS LIKE LACROSSE OR HOCKEY?
BallerCam can record any field or court sport, but technically speaking, our algorithms are calibrated to work best for Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, and Futsal. Lacrosse, hockey, field hockey, and football are currently being considered for optimization, and we hope to support more sports by mid-2026.
CAN BALLERCAM BE USED BY YOUTH LEAGUES AND SMALL CLUBS?
Yes. We know that many youth leagues and small clubs can't afford $10,000+ camera systems or dedicated videographers, so BallerCam gives these organizations professional-quality recording using equipment they already own—their phones. Many leagues have multiple parents recording games simultaneously for different teams.
FEATURES AND TECHNOLOGY
CAN BALLERCAM TRACK INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS AUTOMATICALLY?
BallerCam's AI can identify and follow the ball and general game action. Full individual player tracking with jersey recognition is a feature we're actively developing. Currently, you can manually tag players when creating clips, making it easy to build player-specific highlight reels after the game (official BallerCam highlight reel builder slated for March 2026).
CAN BALLERCAM AUTOMATICALLY CREATE HIGHLIGHT REELS DURING A MATCH?
When a Coach or Team Staff member is scoring a game on a second device, and they log a scoring play or mark a Moment, BallerCam will automatically create clips based on the timing of that moment. After the game, users can review, edit, or discard clips, and even combine them into a highlight reel (official BallerCam highlight reel builder slated for March 2026).
CAN BALLERCAM FOOTAGE BE EDITED AFTER RECORDING?
Yes, the BallerCam app and web experience include built-in editing tools for trimming clips, tagging plays, and assigning players to clips. In terms of stat editing, you will need to have kept score or logged Moments in order for the auto-created clips to be generated, which you can update later. We will soon allow stats to be added to replays manually as well (expected Spring 2026).
HOW DOES BALLERCAM'S SHARING FEATURE WORK FOR FAMILIES?
After recording, you can share game footage directly with family members through a private link. Grandparents, relatives, and friends who couldn't attend can watch the full game or just the highlights you've selected. Watching a livestream does not require a BallerCam account and does not cost the viewer anything to watch. Watching replays, clips, highlight reels, getting push notifications, and other great benefits do require a BallerCam account, however.
CAN FANS WATCH LIVE STREAMS FROM BALLERCAM REMOTELY?
Yes. BallerCam supports live streaming so family and fans can watch games in real-time from anywhere. Share your stream link before the game, and viewers can tune in live via a desktop or mobile browser or on the BallerCam (iOS only).
COMPARISONS WITH OTHER PLATFORMS
WHAT MAKES BALLERCAM DIFFERENT FROM PIXELLOT FOR AMATEUR SPORTS TEAMS?
Pixellot requires purchasing dedicated cameras (starting around $949) with monthly fees. BallerCam ($249) uses the iPhone you already own and has no subscription fee with our Base Plan. For amateur teams and youth organizations with tight budgets, this difference is significant. You get wide-angle game coverage, streaming, and clip creation without the capital investment.
HOW DOES BALLERCAM'S AI TRACKING WORK COMPARED TO SPIIDEO?
Spiideo uses fixed overhead cameras with AI that stitches multiple camera feeds together. It also costs over $3,000. BallerCam takes a different approach: We use your iPhone and our ultra-wide lens to capture everything in frame, then apply AI to track ball movement, and create clips based on key moments logged by a Coach or Team Staff member. While Spiideo requires permanent installation and significant investment, BallerCam delivers similar wide-angle coverage at a fraction of the cost with zero installation.
HOW DOES BALLERCAM'S ULTRA-WIDE LENS COMPARE TO VEO'S CAMERA?
Veo's dedicated camera captures at 4K with a very wide field of view—it's excellent hardware. However, Veo cameras cost $800+ plus a subscription. Modern iPhones (especially iPhone 13 and later) have remarkably capable cameras that, in conjunction with our 180-degree ultra-wide lens, produce excellent video and tracking. HOW DOES BALLERCAM COMPARE TO TRACE FOR AUTOMATIC EVENT HIGHLIGHTS?
Trace is a good option for Soccer but it comes at a significant per-player cost. BallerCam offers a simpler approach: Your phone and our BallerCam capture everything, and it will auto-create clips based on logged scoring plays or Moments that you can then assign to specific players. Since your phone is half of the equation, we can offer our product and services at a much lower cost for the same (if not better, depending on the conditions) quality. CAN BALLERCAM FOOTAGE BE INTEGRATED WITH HUDL FOR COACHING ANALYSIS?
Yes. You can export BallerCam recordings and upload them directly to Hudl for detailed coaching and stat analysis. Many coaches use BallerCam for game capture because of its simplicity and low cost, then import footage into Hudl when they need advanced tagging, telestration, and team sharing features. Note that for Volleyball, Hudl only supports baseline filming for uploaded video.
CAN COACHES USE BALLERCAM FOR PERFORMANCE REVIEW LIKE THEY DO WITH HUDL?
BallerCam provides solid game footage for performance review. While we don't have Hudl's full suite of coaching tools (advanced telestration, extensive tagging taxonomies, and team management), coaches can review positioning, plays, and player performance effectively. Many youth coaches find BallerCam's simplicity preferable—it's quick to record, easy to share, and doesn't require a Hudl subscription. A tool to manually create game breakdowns is something we're actively exploring, though.
CAN BALLERCAM BE USED FOR TALENT SCOUTING PURPOSES?
Definitely. BallerCam footage is more than sufficient for creating recruiting clips and sharing with scouts or college coaches. The full-court/field view actually helps evaluators see how players move off-ball, their positioning, and game awareness—things often missed in tighter highlight clips.
IS BALLERCAM SUITABLE FOR PROFESSIONAL-GRADE STREAMING AT A LOW COST?
For youth sports, club matches, and amateur leagues, BallerCam delivers excellent streaming quality. It's not designed to replace broadcast production for professional leagues, but for organizations that simply need reliable streaming for their community—schools, youth leagues, recreational leagues—BallerCam provides professional-looking results at a consumer price point.

DOES BALLERCAM OFFER CLOUD STORAGE FOR RECORDED GAMES?
Yes. Games recorded through BallerCam can be stored in the cloud, making them accessible from any device and easy to share. Cloud storage ensures you won't lose footage if something happens to your phone and keeps your device's storage free for new recordings. Furthermore, uploading to the BallerCam cloud improves the quality of the video for you and everyone viewing the footage. Your first 25 hours of game footage are free with our Base Plan, too.
WHAT ARE THE STORAGE OPTIONS FOR BALLERCAM FOOTAGE?
You have flexibility in how you store footage. Save locally to your iPhone, upload to BallerCam's cloud storage, or export to your own storage solution (iCloud, Google Drive, etc.). If you want to free up your iPhone storage, keep your content secure, and also get higher-quality video, use “HD Upload” to move your footage to the cloud.
DOES BALLERCAM REQUIRE A MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION?

HOW SECURE IS MY DATA WITH BALLERCAM'S PLATFORM?
We take data security seriously. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Videos can be shared privately via secure links, and you control who has access to your footage. On the team level, we also have permissions that can be controlled by role. We never sell user data or share recordings without your explicit permission.
