Lots of exciting updates for Volleyball this week! The newest BallerCam app update brings three upgrades that make filming, scoring, and sharing your team's games easier than ever. Here is what is new, and how to start using each one today.
AUTOMATIC VOLLEYBALL SCORECARD DETECTION

Filming volleyball just got smarter. When you set up your camera to film, BallerCam can now find the scorecard in your gym for you. Tap Detect Scorecard and the app uses on-device detection to locate the flip scorecard in the camera's view, then shows you a live preview of what it found.
From there, you can fine-tune its position (left, center, or right) and size with a single tap. Once it is locked in, BallerCam keeps the scorecard visible in your broadcast and keeps on-screen graphics from covering it, so everyone watching at home always knows the score.
Quick tip: make sure the scorecard is clearly in the camera's view before you tap detect. If the app cannot find it, you will get a fast prompt to reposition and try again.
SHARE PORTRAIT PLAYS IN A TAP

Portrait mode view and share screen
Your best moments belong on your feed. You can now share individual plays as clean, vertical (portrait) video clips straight from the app. Open a play, tap the "expand" (two arrows) button to view in portrait mode, tap Share, and then send a polished highlight to Instagram Stories/Reels, Facebook, Messages, and more through your phone's native share menu.
Want the scoreboard and player details included instead? You can choose that version too. And if you would rather send a link than a video, Share via Link gives you a quick BallerCam link to drop anywhere. Portrait play sharing is available for basketball and volleyball today, but note that portrait mode viewing will only work for clips going forward, and it may not be possible to use this feature on old replays and clips.
A REDESIGNED SCORING SCREEN

Scoring experience from the filming device.
Scoring during a game should never slow you down, so we rebuilt the in-game scoring experience around speed and clarity. While filming, you get floating Score buttons and a new "Moments" button, so you can easily log plays as they happen and review later. Note that this experience is built for Baseline static-mode only. You can also learn more about scoring and logging Moments from a second device here.

"More Controls" screen
We've also added some extra options for getting the most out of filming through our new More Controls menu. Volleyball operators get dedicated controls related to scoring on different devices, zoom control, and sound control.
We also added a not-recording safety alert that warns you if filming stops mid-game, plus iPad layout improvements so both teams and all of your controls fit comfortably on one screen.
HOW TO GET THE UPDATE
These features are rolling out in the latest version of the BallerCam app. Update to the newest version from the App Store, open your next game, and give them a try. As always, we would love to hear what you think.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I turn on volleyball scorecard detection?

Yes. On the scoring screen, open More Controls and pair a second device with a QR code. A parent or assistant can then keep score from the stands while you focus on filming.
